Grand Rounds at WNS 2024
The 4th World Neurosciences Summit brings an exciting learning opportunity for all Neurology residents. In keeping with the current theme of "Changing Paradigms - Unleashing Possibilities," WNS 2024 is introducing a Grand Rounds program for all residents and fellows of Neurology.
The World Neurosciences Summit hereby invites interesting and challenging clinical cases for Grand Rounds. Three cases will be selected for Grand Rounds discussion by
Dr M Madhusudanan. This will be one of the highlights of the scientific programme for WNS 2024 which will be held at New Delhi from 22nd to 25th August 2024. The program will be organized by Dr Kurian Thomas on behalf of WNS.
This training course shall definitely help them to re-strengthen their clinical skills.
Cases will be evaluated based on the presentation as well as the scope for clinical discussion.
Exciting Awards for top 3 chosen entries
Last date for submitting the cases will be 7th July 2024.
Eligibility
- Current DM (Neurology/ Paediatric Neurology) / DNB (Neurology/ Paediatric Neurology) residents
- Candidates currently doing fellowships in various subsections of Neurology
General Guidelines
- All cases for Grand Rounds should be submitted via the website worldneurosciencessummit@gmail.com.
- Cases should be submitted in ENGLISH only.
- All cases should be submitted as a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation.
- A single candidate can submit up to 3 cases. But only one case from each candidate will be included in the Grand Rounds.
- Students should submit fully worked up cases. Incomplete cases will not be reviewed.
- The case being submitted should not have been published or presented elsewhere.
- The same case, if desired, can be submitted for poster/ platform presentation at the WNS 2024 conference.
- Students must submit a letter from the Head of Department where they are currently pursuing their degree/ fellowship.
- The selected candidates shall get free registration for WNS 2024.
- Last date for submission of cases for Grand Rounds is 7th July 2024.
Format for WNS Grand Rounds:
The file attached for submission should not exceed 50 MB. The preferred format is a PowerPoint presentation with a maximum of 30 slides.
The file you will upload is for review. If the case is accepted, presenters will be free to make changes to their submitted slides. However, they should submit a final PowerPoint presentation a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the conference.
The format for the presentation is as follows:
- Title
- Title slide should include the name of the presenter and the name of the parent institution.
- Titles may be interesting but should not reveal the case outcome.
- History
- Differential diagnosis at the end of history
- Clinical Examination
- Differential diagnosis after examination
- Case summary
- Case summary
- Ancillary Testing (e.g. Radiologic Studies, Pathology, etc.)
- Differential Diagnosis/ Final diagnosis
- Discussion and review of literature
Figures and tables may be used as necessary. Videos may also be included in the presentation if clinically appropriate. However, these should be properly labelled and separately attached as an extra file in addition to the presentation during submission.
